When you call the People’s House a dump, expect some backlash.

In Alan Shipnuck’s lengthy Golf.com article Tuesday about Donald Trump’s relationship to the game, the reporter included this gem about the president’s repeat trips to Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, NJ:

Chatting with some members before a recent round of golf, (Trump) explained his frequent appearances: “That White House is a real dump.” (A White House spokesperson denies this occurred.)

“A real dump” is supposedly how the president views the White House, and even though the White House denies Trump said this, it set everyone off.

As many were quick to point out, if Obama had been heard quipping disparaging thoughts about the White House, the uproar would be overwhelming.

Many took the comment as an invitation to boot Trump from the White House.

The White House is America’s pride and joy. It’s one of the most celebrated and recognizable buildings in the world. To live in the historic mansion is a privilege and an honor. Even if Trump said this jokingly, Americans obviously arent laughing.
